Rachel Preparing for Baptism

On Sept 8th, as I headed to the Gilbert temple, I wasn't sure what weather I would find there since at my home it was just slightly breezy but the grey clouds indicated more stormy weather to the south. We pressed forward with hope that we could capture some beautiful preparing-for-baptism photos of Rachel. One the way there, my van was sprinkled on and further south I saw dozens of broken and tipped trees and debri all over the road. The storm had passed and left the temple grounds messier than typical and a little wet. The cloudy sky and an unusually orange hue from a sun filtered by wildfire smoke blowing in from CA created a unique lighting experience. Although closed gates due to temple closure from COVID-19 prevented us from accessing many of our favorite areas of the grounds, we captured Rachel's sincere excitement and anticipation to enter the gate of baptism that following Saturday.

Here are a selection of my favorite images from our time together.
